Greek Independence Day at National Hellenic Museum

Greek Independence Day at National Hellenic Museum, Chicago
Sat March 25

What better place to celebrate Greek Independence Day than the National Hellenic Museum in Chicago.

Located on Halsted Street in Chicago's Greek town, the museum event will feature tours of unique exhibitions displaying key moments in Greece's fight for freedom.

The annual event will also include singing, dancing and fun crafts for all to enjoy.

Come and remember a time when Greek revolutionaries would fight the oppressive Ottoman empire, leading eventually to Greece becoming an independent free state in 1829 when the Treaty of Edirne was signed.

The important date is also a great day to enjoy fine food and drink at one of the many Greek restaurants in Chicago's famous Greektown...OPA!

Free with museum admission.
