Rose Garden Cafe Celebrates 20 Years in Elk Grove Village
December 2019
Celebrating 20 years in Elk Grove Village, The Rose Garden Cafe attributes its success to a few very simple ideas...great food at affordable prices, generous portions and friendly old-school service.
"We’re all about the basics here," says Chris, owner at Rose Garden who began the restaurant on the strong belief that dining out should be a memorable experience. “When people visit us, they’re treated like family and it’s been our privilege over the years to develop close relationships with so many of our guests. We want people to feel like they're dining in our home where everyone can feel comfortable and enjoy an honest to goodness meal.”
And based on customer comments we received, the tasty and large portions served every day at the bustling restaurant are certainly noticed and appreciated. Words often used to describe the food are “flavorful,” "outstanding," “tasty" and "satisfying." On a particular Thursday, the staff notified OpaChicago that the massive Stuffed Peppers (usually the Thursday special) always sell out and are one of Rose Garden’s most popular items.
Other noteworthy selections include classic breakfast fare including fluffy omelets, pancakes, skillets, crepes, waffles and benedicts. Lunch and dinner items feature and a wide variety of salads, sandwiches, appetizers, pastas, steaks, burgers, bbq ribs, seafood and more. Customers praise the Cream of Chicken Rice Soup, one of their biggest carry out items every day of the week. Over the years, it is estimated that Rose Garden has served over half a million gallons of the famous soup which customers can enjoy in-house or take out in quarts. No matter what you choose from the extensive menu, the restaurant always delivers fresh and delicious meals with a consistency and dedication that separates Rose Garden from corporate chain restaurants.
Another unique feature is the Greek specialties including Athenian Chicken, Greek-Style Skirt Steak, Greek Salad and broiled Lamb Chops. Their famous Prime Rib of Beef is also a popular draw every weekend along with other weekly specials.
The popular restaurant has undergone occasional renovations over the years and even added an outdoor patio in 2012 that seats 35 people. Some folks may even remember the restaurant was originally named “Maitre De” then renamed “Seven Stars,” before finally becoming “The Rose Garden Cafe.” Today, the spacious eatery is also proud to host private parties in a beautifully designed lower level room that can accommodate any special occasion for up to 140 people.
